Blue Mass honors first responders
In gratitude for the contribution of first responders to our safety and welfare, the Diocese of Austin celebrated the Blue Mass on Sept. 30. The Mass honored all active, retired and deceased Central Texas first responders. Father James Misko, vicar general of the Diocese of Austin, celebrated this year’s Blue Mass.
“By embracing your vocation, may you recognize that in encountering the men and women in our cities and towns, you are encountering the Mystical Body of Christ. In protecting, assisting and guiding each person, you help preserve the sacredness of God’s good order in the world. We are grateful for all that you do for us and we continue to pray for your safety,” he said during the homily.
