More than 200 students from the 20 Catholic schools in the Diocese of Austin submitted entries on the theme of “Joyful Disciples” for the 2022 Catholic Services Appeal Scholarship Contest. The 12 winners were invited to a reception on Oct. 8 at St. John Vianney Parish in Round Rock, where they received their scholarship from Bishop Joe Vásquez. In addition, all Catholic schools were invited to submit a video on the meaning of generosity. Santa Cruz Catholic School in Buda, Sacred Heart Catholic School in La Grange and St. Theresa Catholic School in Austin won $5,000 each for their videos.
