God is faithful

What a roller coaster the last six weeks have been. It began with Easter, which I celebrated with my dad and 96-year-old grandmother in South Texas. We had four generations in one small space on Easter Sunday morning, and it was glorious!

Then we woke up on Easter Monday to find Pope Francis had died. What an example of faith and humility he was!

Next on May 8, Pope Leo XIV became our 267th Holy Father. Joy filled the diocesan Pastoral Center as the news was announced.

Finally, in the last three weeks of May as my daughter (my baby) prepared to graduate high school, my heart exploded with pride and contracted with sadness over and over. As I watched her sign her commitment letter to a great university, hang up her FFA jacket at the annual banquet, and strut across that stage to receive her diploma, all I could do was whisper words of thanks to God, who I know walks with her as she heads into a bright future. Thank you, Lord, for your faithfulness through it all!
