Masses Celebrate Legal and Law Enforcement Professionals

The 31st annual Red Mass will be held Sept. 27 at 6 p.m. at St. Mary Cathedral in Austin. Bishop Joe Vásquez will celebrate the Mass, which will be followed by dinner featuring a presentation by Notre Dame law professor and author O. Carter Snead. Snead served as general counsel to the U.S. President’s Council on Bioethics and was appointed to the Pontifical Academy for Life in 2016, the principal bioethics advisory board to Pope Francis. Most recently, he co-authored an amicus curiae brief in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization et. al. Tickets for the dinner may be purchased at austindiocese.org/red-mass.

Bishop Joe Vásquez will celebrate a Blue Mass for law enforcement Sept. 29 at 2 p.m. at St. Vincent de Paul Parish in Austin. Those who serve our communities in law enforcement are encouraged to attend. Please join us to celebrate and pray for those who serve in law enforcement across Central Texas and beyond.
