We recognize the Body of Christ

Father Jarod Cooke, pastor of Our Lady of Wisdom University Parish in San Marcos, hosted a recent segment of 60 Seconds with the Eucharist. He discussed the centrality of the Eucharist in the lives of all Catholics. He said we have 168 hours in each week, and wondered why we often struggle to give just one hour back to God by going to Mass.

“All the Lord asks is for us to give one hour back to him. And what's so amazing is that when we give him that seemingly insignificant hour back, he gives us something so huge, so cosmic, so astronomical of a gift that it really does change our lives,” Father Cooke said.

Jesus gives us himself in the Eucharist, he said. May we all remember and celebrate this truth as we come to receive the Body of Christ.

The 60 Seconds with the Eucharist series can be found on YouTube, and the videos are shared on the Diocese of Austin Facebook page.
