CCCTX invites all to plant a seed of hope during Lent
Lent is a season of reflection, sacrifice and renewal. It’s a time to draw closer to God and to live his call to love our neighbors. At Catholic Charities of Central Texas (CCCTX), we witness that love in action every day. This Lent, I invite you to join us in this mission by becoming a volunteer.

As the social service arm of the Diocese of Austin, we walk alongside families living in poverty and encounter people facing challenges that no one should have to carry alone — families at risk of homelessness, parents striving to give their children stability, veterans seeking support, individuals working through mental health struggles and immigrants seeking safety. We are blessed to lift them up in their time of need, answering Christ’s call to serve with love and compassion. We cannot do this work alone — it takes the support of our community, those who bless us by sharing their time, talent and treasure.
At Catholic Charities, we consider it a blessing to show God’s love through action. This Lent, we invite you to share in that blessing by volunteering with our mission. Whether you can offer a few hours one time or make a recurring commitment throughout the season, you can make a profound difference in the life of a brother or sister in need by sharing your gifts with Catholic Charities. Your compassion will be a reminder to all that in the Body of Christ, none of us walk alone.
Time and again, our clients tell us that what sets our mission apart is not just the services we provide, but the heart with which we do our work. Over time, the seeds of hope we plant at Catholic Charities spread throughout families, across our diocese, and from one generation to the next.
Just as our doors are open to clients, they are open to you. We welcome volunteers of all backgrounds and skillsets.
May this Lent be a season where, together, we plant seeds of hope that bear lasting fruit.

Lend a hand, grow hope
The time, talent and passion of CCCTX volunteers are essential to fulfilling our mission and bringing hope to those we serve. Last year, volunteers contributed more than 5,000 hours at CCCTX, a 68% increase over the previous year.
Central Texas Flood Relief. When floods swept through Central Texas, CCCTX volunteers became the hands and hearts of hope. They packed hundreds of care kits filled with essential items for families who lost everything and helped CCCTX mobilize immediately to affected communities, bringing relief and comfort to survivors.
Service Saturday. CCCTX recently launched Service Saturday, a weekend event designed to foster community and provide meaningful, family-friendly volunteer opportunities. Participants take part in projects that help clients feel welcomed and cared for on CCCTX campuses. This popular event is expanding to all CCCTX campuses across the diocese and offers an inviting way for volunteers to get involved in the mission.
