Feb. 3: On the first Saturday of each month, Father Kevin Rai will lead Marian Mornings from 8 a.m. to noon at St. Elizabeth Parish in Pflugerville. The mini retreat will begin with Mass and will include a teaching, prayer time, silence and time for the sacrament of reconciliation.


Feb. 3: St. John Neumann Parish in Austin will host a First Saturday Mass for Vocations followed by a Holy Hour for Vocations at 8:45 a.m.


Feb. 3-9: An interactive Eucharistic Miracle Exhibit will be held at St. William Parish Evangelization Center in Round Rock. Families and people of all ages are invited to come and learn how Jesus shines his light on his true presence in the Eucharist with Eucharistic miracles.

Feb. 9-11: Sacred Silence: Reflecting on and Writing on God will be offered at Cedarbrake Catholic Retreat Center in Temple. This silent retreat will provide participants with prompts and strategies for writing about their spiritual experiences. Spiritual direction will be available. Led by writer, editor and spiritual director Nathaniel Lee Hansen, this retreat requires no prior writing experience.

Feb. 14: Ash Wednesday, a day of fasting and abstinence.


Feb. 14: A special collection for World and Home Missions will be held in all parishes in the Diocese of Austin. This collection benefits U.S. missions as well as those in Africa and Europe who are serving the poor physically and spiritually.


Feb. 14: Ash Wednesday Retreat will be offered at Cedarbrake Catholic Retreat Center in Temple. Join Cheryl (Max) Maxwell, gifted retreat director and parishioner of St. Thomas More Parish in Austin, as we journey to the cross, the ultimate gift of love.

Feb. 17: The 12th annual Catholic Men’s Conference will be held from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at San José Parish in Austin. This year’s theme is “Spiritual Fatherhood.” Matthew Leonard and Devin Schadt will be the featured presenters. The day will also include the Mass, the rosary, confession and fellowship. Feb. 17: Bishop Joe Vásquez will celebrate the Rite of Election at 10:30 a.m. at St. Margaret Mary Parish in Cedar Park.


Feb. 20: Join Catholics throughout the diocese for 33 days of preparation prayer for Total Consecration to Jesus through Mary. The prayers begin on Feb. 20 and are done privately using the preparation book.

March 2: Single men between the ages of 14 and 49 are invited to Project Andrew, a day of discernment, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at St. Louis Parish in Austin. The day will include Mass, prayer, presentations on the priesthood and an opportunity to meet many priests.

March 8-10: A Silent Lent Retreat will be offered at Cedarbrake Catholic Retreat Center in Temple. Lent is a graced time of the year to ponder more deeply the sacrificial love of Our Lord. This silent retreat will include community prayer, reflections, Mass, adoration and confession. Father Harry Dean and Brian Egan will lead the retreat.

March 9-10: A special collection for Catholic Relief Services in all parishes in the diocese. This collection is an opportunity to help improve the lives of the most vulnerable people around the world and in the U.S.


March 13-17: The Father's Heart Silent Retreat will be held at Eagle’s Wings Retreat Center in Burnet. This five-day retreat into the silence of prayer, reflection and rest is the perfect opportunity for young adults (18 to 35) to leave behind the noise and chaos to hear the heartbeat of God. Based on the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius of Loyola, this retreat will include teaching on prayer and discernment of spirits, followed by three days of silence with individual spiritual direction and daily conferences.
