MARCH 8-10: A Silent Lent Retreat will be offered at Cedarbrake Catholic Retreat Center in Temple. Lent is a graced time of the year to ponder more deeply the sacrificial love of Our Lord. This silent retreat will include community prayer, reflections, Mass, adoration and confession. Father Harry Dean and Brian Egan will lead the retreat.

MARCH 9-10: A special collection for Catholic Relief Services will be taken up in all parishes in the diocese. This collection is an opportunity to help improve the lives of the most vulnerable people around the world and in the U.S.


MARCH 13-17: The Father's Heart Silent Retreat will be held at Eagle’s Wings Retreat Center in Burnet. This five-day retreat into the silence of prayer, reflection and rest is the perfect opportunity for young adults (18 to 35) to leave behind the noise and chaos to hear the heartbeat of God. Based on the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius of Loyola, this retreat will include teaching on prayer and discernment of spirits, followed by three days of silence with individual spiritual direction and daily conferences.

MARCH 22: Cedarbrake Catholic Retreat Center in Temple will present The Noise and the Silence. Dr. Stephen Braden will lead this day retreat based on his book (per the retreat title), which invites us to live a balanced life of work, prayer and family, and to listen and seek the Holy Spirit each day. Dr. Braden is a retired family doctor who has led over 40 medical mission trips to Latin America. The cost is $45.

MARCH 26: Bishop Joe Vásquez will celebrate the diocesan Chrism Mass at 10:30 a.m. at St. Vincent de Paul Parish in Austin.

MARCH 28-APRIL 1: Diocesan offices will be closed for Holy Thursday, Good Friday and Easter Monday.


MARCH 29: The Schoenstatt Movement of Austin will present its annual Good Friday Pilgrimage beginning at 12:30 p.m. at St. Mary Cathedral in Austin. Participants will proceed through the streets of Austin to the Schoenstatt Shrine. This 9-mile solemn pilgrimage remembers Jesus’ sacrifice and includes stops for the Stations of the Cross, the rosary and rest (water and snacks).

MARCH 29: On Good Friday, parishes in the diocese will take up a special collection to support the Franciscans working in the Holy Land. The collection is devoted to not only the preservation of the holy places where Jesus lived, died, and rose again, but above all to pastoral, charitable, educational and social works for the welfare of our Christian sisters and brothers there.


APRIL 6: On the first Saturday of each month, Father Kevin Rai will lead Marian Mornings from 8 a.m. to noon at St. Elizabeth Parish in Pflugerville. The mini retreat will begin with Mass and will include a teaching, prayer time, silence and time for the sacrament of reconciliation.


APRIL 6: St. John Neumann Parish in Austin will host a first Saturday Mass for Vocations followed by a Holy Hour for Vocations at 8:45 a.m.


APRIL 6: Cedarbrake Catholic Retreat Center in Temple will present Art and Prayer from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Mara Johnson, a parishioner of Emmaus Parish in Lakeway who works with Moon Bird Arts, will lead this retreat inviting participants to paint, draw and pray as a way of praising God. The cost is $55 with lunch and art supplies included.

APRIL 8: All are invited to collectively make or renew our Total Consecration to Jesus through Mary during Mass on the Annunciation of the Lord. Rosary and Mass will be celebrated at 6 p.m. at St. Mary Cathedral in Austin, at 5:15 p.m. at St. Helen Parish in Georgetown, and at 5:30 p.m. at St. Peter Catholic Student Center in Waco. APRIL 12-14: The Heart of Mary: A Discernment Retreat for Women will be offered at Cedarbrake Catholic Retreat Center in Temple. The retreat will include time for prayer, spiritual conferences on discernment and vocations, and opportunities to speak with other women discerning their vocation. The retreat is open to single women who are 18 to 35 years old. The cost of the retreat is $35.

APRIL 20: A Women's Conference in Spanish will be held from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at San José Parish in Austin.
