Celebrating Our Faith - April 2025

 


April 5: Father Kevin Rai leads Marian Mornings on first Saturdays from 8 a.m. to noon at St. Elizabeth Parish in Pflugerville. The morning includes Mass, a teaching, prayer time, silence and time for the sacrament of reconciliation.


April 5: St. John Neumann Parish in Austin hosts a Mass for Vocations followed by a Holy Hour for Vocations at 8:45 a.m. on the first Saturday of each month.


April 5: St. Mary Church of the Assumption in Waco hosts a Mass and Holy Hour for Vocations on the first Saturday of each month at 9 a.m. All are welcome!


April 8-10: Armor of God Catholic Radio is hosting its Spring 2025 Pledge Drive. Tune in to 106.9 fm, 93.9 fm or 1330 am each day from 8-11 a.m. and 3-6 p.m. to hear incredible stories about how Catholic Radio has changed the lives of our friends and family all over Central Texas.


April 11-13: All single women between the ages of 18 and 35 are invited to join the Servants of the Pierced Hearts of Jesus and Mary for the Heart of Mary: A Discernment Retreat for Women. The retreat will include time for prayer, spiritual conferences on discernment and vocations, and opportunities to speak with other women discerning their vocation.

April 15: The annual Chrism Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. at St. William Parish in Round Rock. The oils used to administer the sacraments will be blessed and dispensed to all parishes.


April 17-21: Diocesan offices will be closed for the Triduum and Easter Monday.


April 18: On Good Friday, parishes in the diocese will take up a special collection to support the Franciscans working in the Holy Land. The collection is devoted to not only the preservation of the holy places of pilgrimage where Jesus lived, died and rose again, but above all to pastoral, charitable, educational and social works for the welfare of our Christian sisters and brothers there.


April 23-25: Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish in Austin will display an exhibition of Eucharistic miracles from 20 countries around the world from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. The panels will be in English and Spanish.

April 24: ACC Catholic will host an Easter celebration.

April 26: The annual diocesan Middle School Rally will be held at St. Anthony Marie de Claret Parish in Kyle. This is an opportunity for youth in grades 6-8 from across the diocese to come together for a fun day of dynamic presentations, prayer, fellowship and workshops that help them grow in faith. This year's speaker is Megan Copeland.

May 3: The Diocesan Catholic Committee on Scouting meets quarterly to assess the needs of the Catholic Scouting population and to plan age-appropriate events to foster a deeper appreciation of our faith.

May 10: A Diocesan Holy Hour for Vocations will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at St. Louis Parish in Austin. All are invited to this day of prayer and hope for more vocations to the priesthood and religious life.

May 10-11: A special collection for Seminarians and Priest Education and Formation will be taken up in parishes across the Austin Diocese.


May 17: Five men will be ordained as transitional deacons at 10:30 a.m. at St. Vincent de Paul Parish in Austin. God willing, these men will be ordained priests in 2026.


May 31: The Inner Healing Retreat will be held at Cedarbrake Catholic Retreat Center in Temple. Deacons Dan Lupo and Rod Reyna will explain the scriptural roots of Jesus' healing mission, review current Catholic-based efforts to continue that mission, and demonstrate the practice of healing prayer. The retreat is from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and the cost is $50, which includes lunch.

June 6-11: The Summer Silent Retreat will be held at Cedarbrake Catholic Retreat Center in Temple. Begin your summer focusing on the beauty of the Son of God and allow his love to warm you.

June 7: The Gift of Peace Day Retreat will be held at Cedarbrake Catholic Retreat Center in Temple. This is an opportunity to journey with others toward greater peace in their lives.

June 14: Transitional deacons Scott Fyall, Michael Noriega, Kingsley Ohaeri, Michael Rhodes and Ladd Spears will be ordained to the priesthood at 10:30 a.m. at St. Vincent de Paul Parish in Austin.
