OCT. 6: St. Thomas Aquinas Parish in College Station hosts a Holy Hour for Vocations on the first Monday of each month at 7 p.m. in the main church. All are welcome!


OCT. 7: On the first Tuesday of each month, the Office of Social Justice and Multicultural Engagement along with Deacon Joseph Cannon will host gatherings to discuss the most pertinent objectives for the Black apostolate of the Diocese of Austin. The fruits of these gatherings will result in our new Regional Plan of Action concerning the Black Apostolate. These gatherings are in person and online.

OCT. 11: St. Mary, Our Lady of the Lake Parish in Lago Vista will host its Fall Festival on the parish grounds. The day will include a car show, petting zoo, music, games for all ages and the chance to win great prizes. All are welcome!


Oct. 11: All are invited to make a pilgrimage to the Marian Shrine of Our Lady of Schoenstatt and pray a Candlelight Rosary every Saturday in October at 7:30 p.m. The rosary will include meditations, songs, and end with a short candlelight procession. Plan to stay afterward for refreshments and social time!


OCT. 12: Church of the Visitation in Westphalia will host its 118th Picnic on the parish grounds. There will be a meal, live auction, music, baked goods, crafts and games for all ages.


Oct. 12: St. John Parish in Round Rock will host its Big Event from 12 to 3 p.m. on the parish grounds. Come and enjoy fellowship and many fun activities for all ages including food, games, music, and much more.

OCT. 18: St. John Parish in Fayetteville hosts a Holy Hour for Vocations on the third Saturday of each month following the 7:30 a.m. Mass. All are welcome!


OCT. 18: The annual Healthcare Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. at St. Louis Parish in Austin. This will be an afternoon of spiritual integration and rejuvenation honoring all healthcare workers.

OCT. 18: Healing Hearts will be presented from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Cedarbrake Catholic Retreat Center in Temple. This is for those seeking to move through life’s events with grace, clarity and purpose. Led by author Gabby Ring, a parishioner at St. Faustina Parish in Houston, this day offers sacred space to explore how life’s hardest moments can become turning points for healing and transformation.

OCT 18: St. Philip Parish in China Spring will host its annual Oktoberfest on the parish grounds. A German meal of pork loin or brisket and sausage with all the trimmings will be served for $12 per plate. Hot dog plates are $5 each.

Inside dining and plates-to-go will be served from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. There will be games for all ages, a country store and bake sale during the day. A silent auction begins at 11 a.m., live auction begins at 1 p.m. and the day will conclude with a dance from 2 to 6 p.m.


Oct. 18: The Knights of Peter Claver Ladies Auxiliary, Court #284, cordially invites ladies of all ages to attend the 2025 Mother-Daughter Tea from 2 to 5 p.m. in the Holy Cross Family Life Center (1110 Concho St.) in Austin. This will be a cherished afternoon of fellowship, elegance and celebration. Tickets are $25 in advance and $30 at the door.

OCT. 19: Holy Qurbono (Holy Mass) in the Syro-Malankara Catholic Rite is celebrated every third Sunday of the month at Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish in Austin at 3 p.m.


OCT. 19: St. Helen Parish in Georgetown will host its annual Fall Festival from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the parish grounds. There will be live music throughout the day, games for all ages and a variety of international foods. From Oct. 17-19 there will be a Rummage Sale from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. in St. Rita Activity Center.

OCT. 22: Father Mike Schmitz will present his Parables Tour at 7:30 p.m. at the H-E-B Center in Cedar Park. Father Schmitz is a diocesan priest in the Diocese of Duluth, his primary ministry is serving as chaplain for the Newman Center at the University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD). All proceeds will help to fund the construction of a brand-new church and a dedicated space for students to meet, pray, study and grow in their faith on the UMD campus.

Oct. 25: All scouts, scouting families, and scout leaders are invited to join Father Jakob Hurlimann and the Diocesan Catholic Committee on Scouting for the Walking in Faith Hike. Please meet at 9:45 a.m. at the Cedarbrake Retreat Center Chapel for Mass (5602 Hwy 317 N. in Temple). After Mass, participants will begin the five-mile hike to Miller Springs Park. Bring your lunch and water bottle.

OCT. 26: St. Margaret Parish in Giddings will host its annual Fall Festival from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Silos on 77 in Giddings. There will also be live music, silent and live auctions, a cake walk and children's games.


Oct. 27: Mercy of God Prayer Center will offer Writing to Heal on Mondays Oct. 27, Nov 3, 10, 17, 24 from 7 to 9 p.m. If you’ve ever faced traumas, hurtful relationships, or bruising adversity and wondered “Where is God?” in that, then consider attending this workshop: it offers a way to receive God’s healing of those wounds through reflective writing.

OCT. 27-NOV. 24: Mercy of God Prayer Center will present Writing to Heal from 7 to 9 p.m. on five consecutive Mondays. Led by spiritual director, healing prayer minister and former writing instructor Deacon Dan Lupo, participants will write to reveal Jesus' healing presence.

NOV. 7-9: Married couples are invited to a Weekend Experience Nov. 7-9 at the Wyndham Garden Hotel. Three couples and a priest who are part of Worldwide Marriage Encounter will present this weekend, which is designed for couples to take a new look at their marriage, priorities and lifestyle, learn simple, effective communication techniques, and rediscover their hopes and dreams.

Nov. 15: St. John Parish in Fayetteville hosts a Holy Hour for Vocations on the third Saturday of each month following the 7:30 a.m. Mass. All are welcome!


Nov. 22: Hispanic families are invited to attend the first Diocesan Hispanic Family Congress from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at San José Parish in Austin. The theme is “Familia, Santuario de amor, fe y esperanza” and the day will include prayer, reflection and sharing activities. Children, youth and adults will practice different ways to put Christ at the center of their lives so that all families may give witness to God’s love. The cost is $15 for individuals or $50 for families.

Nov. 22: Armor of God Catholic Radio will host a Benefit Banquet at Christ the King Parish in Belton. Come celebrate the goodness of God and enjoy an evening of fun and fellowship with Keynote Speaker Johnette Benkovic Williams, host of EWTN’s Women of Grace, world renowned Catholic Speaker, retreat conductor, and author.
