SEPT. 19-26: A relic of St. André Bessette, aka, the “Miracle Man of Montreal,” will visit Austin and San Antonio. Veneration and Mass will be held Sept. 19 at 6:30 p.m.

SEPT. 20: Join St. Elizabeth Parish in Pflugerville as they kick off their annual Fiesta at 6 p.m. All are invited to the dance in the south parking lot of the parish on Sept. 27 from 5 to 9:30 p.m. The fiesta is Sept. 28 from 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the parish grounds. There will be family fun, games for all ages, arts and crafts, and live and silent auctions.


SEPT. 26-28: Broken for All: Being the Body of Christ will be presented at Cedarbrake Catholic Retreat Center in Temple. Join author Sister Julia Walsh for a time of reflection centered on exploring the sacredness of brokenness, paths to healing and integration. Her book, For Love of the Broken Body, begins with the story of her facial disfigurement at the age of 25. Sister Julia is a Franciscan Sister of Perpetual Adoration residing in Chicago. The cost is $310 for a private room, $265 for a shared room and $165 for commuters, all meals included.

SEPT. 26-28: St. Thomas Aquinas Parish in College Station will host its annual AquinasFest on the parish grounds. Festivities begin on Friday night with games and then continue on Sunday with indoor/outdoor games for all ages, a live auction, a silent auction and great food.


SEPT. 27: The annual Scout Recognition Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Parish in Bryan. Scouts from Scouts BSA, Girl Scouts and American Heritage Girls will receive their religious emblem or award they earned in the previous year. Eagle Scouts and Gold Award and Stars and Stripes awardees are invited to attend. Adult recognition awards are also awarded at this Mass.

SEPT. 27: Holy Family Parish in Copperas Cove will host a Car Show from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the parish grounds. Awards will be given for the top 20 cars. There will be food, vendors and a garage sale throughout the event.

SEPT. 27: The Knights of Columbus from St. Martin de Porres Parish in Dripping Springs will host the Hill Country Golf Shootout at Vaaler Creek Golf Club. The day will begin with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. All are invited to participate in the four-person scramble, which will raise funds for the new church at St. Martin de Porres Parish and for local charities. Sponsorships are available and there will be an online auction as well as a hole-in-one contest.

SEPT. 27-28: Holy Family Parish in Copperas Cove will host their Fall Festival on the parish grounds. Vendors are welcome!

SEPT. 28: St. Martin Parish in Tours will host its annual Picnic from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. in Tours Hall. Fried chicken and sausage dinner plates ($15 each) will be served from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will also be a live auction at 1 p.m., games for all ages and a country store. All are welcome!


SEPT. 29: The Diocese of Austin will celebrate the Blue Mass at 11 a.m. at St. Louis King of France Parish in Austin. The Mass honors all active, retired and deceased Central Texas first responders.

OCT. 2: The annual Red Mass will be celebrated at 6 p.m. at St. Austin Parish in Austin. This Mass of the Holy Spirit celebrates and prays for those who study or are engaged in the administration of justice.

OCT. 4: St. John Neumann Parish in Austin hosts a Mass for Vocations at 8:45 a.m. on the first Saturday of each month. All are welcome!


OCT. 4: St. Mary Church of the Assumption in Waco hosts a Mass and Holy Hour for Vocations on the first Saturday of each month at 9 a.m. All are welcome!


OCT. 6: St. Thomas Aquinas Parish in College Station hosts a Holy Hour for Vocations on the first Monday of each month at 7 p.m. in the main church. All are welcome!


OCT. 12: Church of the Visitation in Westphalia will host its 118th Picnic on the parish grounds. There will be a meal, live auction, music, baked goods, crafts and games for all ages.


OCT. 18: St. John Parish in Fayetteville hosts a Holy Hour for Vocations on the third Saturday of each month following the 7:30 a.m. Mass. All are welcome!


OCT. 18: The annual Healthcare Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. at St. Louis Parish in Austin. This will be an afternoon of spiritual integration and rejuvenation honoring all healthcare workers.

OCT. 18: Healing Hearts will be presented from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Cedarbrake Catholic Retreat Center in Temple. This is for those seeking to move through life’s events with grace, clarity and purpose. Led by author Gabby Ring, a parishioner at St. Faustina Parish in Houston, this day offers sacred space to explore how life’s hardest moments can become turning points for healing and transformation.

OCT. 19: Holy Qurbono (Holy Mass) in the Syro-Malankara Catholic Rite is celebrated every third Sunday of the month at Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish in Austin at 3 p.m.


OCT. 22: Father Mike Schmitz will present his Parables Tour at 7:30 p.m. at the H-E-B Center in Cedar Park. Father Schmitz is a diocesan priest in the Diocese of Duluth, his primary ministry is serving as chaplain for the Newman Center at the University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD). All the proceeds from each event are helping to fund the construction of a brand-new church and a dedicated space for students to meet, pray, study, and grow in their faith on the UMD campus.

Oct. 25: All scouts, scouting families, and scout leaders are invited to join Father Jakob Hurlimann and the Diocesan Catholic Committee on Scouting for the Walking in Faith Hike. Please meet at 9:45 a.m. at the Cedarbrake Retreat Center Chapel for Mass (5602 Hwy 317 N. in Temple). After Mass, participants will begin the 5-mile hike to Miller Springs Park. Bring your lunch and water bottle.
