JULY 18: Red-C Radio will host a retreat for families entitled Fortified in Waco. The theme of the retreat is Strengthen the Family, Rebuild the Church. The cost is $50 per family.

JULY 18: The 17th annual Central Texas Fellowship of Catholic Men's Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. at St. John Vianney Parish in Round Rock. Bishop Daniel Garcia will celebrate the Mass. A reception will follow in the parish hall.


JULY 22: The Austin Diocesan Council of Catholic Women will host the annual Rural Life Mass at 6 p.m. at Church of the Visitation in Westphalia. Bishop Daniel Garcia will celebrate the Mass. A dinner will follow. All are welcome to celebrate the harvest and all who work and support agricultural life.


JULY 23: Mercy of God Prayer Center in Austin will host Writing to Heal, a five-week workshop led by Deacon Dan Lupo. Participants will meet from 7 to 9 p.m. on July 23, 30, Aug. 6, 13 and 20. Insights from James Pennebaker's Writing to Heal and Elizabeth Andrew's Writing the Sacred Journey, along with other resources, will be shared. Register: mogpc.org/programs and click on Workshops.

JULY 31 -AUG. 2: Cedarbrake Catholic Retreat Center in Temple will host the Life-Giving Wounds Retreat. This three-day retreat for young adults and adults with divorced parents invites participants to move through the broken image of love in their parents’ relationship to their deepest identity found in God.

AUG. 1: The diocesan Office of Restorative Justice will host its annual day of reflection at Cedarbrake Catholic Retreat Center in Temple. The reflection, In God’s Presence with Those We Encounter, features distinguished speakers sharing their lived experiences, with special presentations by One Parish One Prison Ministry and the Women’s Storybook Project. The day begins with Mass celebrated by Bishop Daniel Garcia.

AUG. 1: The fifth annual Scouting Family Retreat will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Eagle’s Wings Retreat Center in Burnet.

AUG. 1: Living as His Beloved One: A Journey from Silence to Surrender to Boldness will be presented at Cedarbrake Catholic Retreat Center in Temple. In this retreat, participants will reflect on the lives of five women in Scripture who show us how to walk with God in silence, surrender and bold faith. Join Mary Pomeroy, retreat leader and spiritual director, to walk this path together as his beloved. The cost is $50, and a light meal is included.

AUG. 1: St. John Neumann Parish in Austin hosts a Mass for Vocations at 8:45 a.m. on the first Saturday of each month.


AUG. 1: St. Mary Church of the Assumption in Waco hosts a Mass and Holy Hour for Vocations on the first Saturday of each month at 9 a.m. All are welcome!


AUG. 1: A Filipino Mass is celebrated on the first Saturday of the month at 4 p.m. at St. Peter the Apostle Parish in Austin. Fellowship follows the Mass at the Parish Activity Center. It’s a potluck dinner, so please bring a dish to share. Come and join us and meet your kababayan!


AUG. 3: St. Thomas Aquinas Parish in College Station hosts a Holy Hour for Vocations on the first Monday of each month at 7 p.m. in the main church. All are welcome!


AUG. 6: St. Joseph Parish in Bryan hosts a Holy Hour for Vocations on the first Thursday of each month following the 6 p.m. Mass. All are welcome!


AUG. 9: St. Mary Church of the Assumption in West will host its annual Feast Day Festival at the West Columbus Club. A lunch of fried or baked chicken and sausage with all the trimmings will be served for $15 per plate. Inside dining and plates-to-go begin at 11 a.m. There will be a country store and other activities. The live auction begins at 12:15 p.m.

AUG. 15: St. John Parish in Fayetteville hosts a Holy Hour for Vocations on the third Saturday of each month following the 7:30 a.m. Mass. All are welcome!


AUG. 16: St. Monica Parish in Cameron will host its annual Homecoming Festival on the parish grounds. The day begins with a Polka Mass at 10 a.m. Barbecue beef and sausage plates will be served at 10:30 a.m. for $15 a plate until sold out. There will be games for all ages, food booths, a live auction, and live entertainment throughout the day.


AUG. 28: Catholics across the diocese are invited to Catholic Night at the Round Rock Express. Bring your family, friends, parish groups and ministries for a memorable night cheering on the Round Rock Express. Game starts at 7:05 p.m.

AUG. 28-30: A weekend retreat for women, entitled The Lies We Tell Ourselves, will be presented at Cedarbrake Catholic Retreat Center in Temple. This retreat will explore the traps we can fall into, and cause us not to see ourselves as God sees us. Beverly Collin, former assistant director at Cedarbrake and current chaplain at North Austin Medical Center, will lead this retreat for women.

SEPT. 7: Diocesan offices will be closed for Labor Day.


SEPT. 11-12: A diocesan conference on Our Lady of Guadalupe will be held at St. William Parish in Round Rock. The conference will include presentations on the meaning and the evangelization power of the symbols encrypted on St. Juan Diego's tilma, and a group discussion on continuing God's message in our communities.

SEPT. 12: Praying with Voice, Mind and Heart will be held from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Mercy of God Prayer Center on the St. Thomas More Campus in Austin. The day includes light breakfast and lunch. Donation is $45.
