May 2: St. John Neumann Parish in Austin hosts a Mass for Vocations at 8:45 a.m. on the first Saturday of each month.


May 2: St. Mary Church of the Assumption in Waco hosts a Mass and Holy Hour for Vocations on the first Saturday of each month at 9 a.m. All are welcome!


May 2: All are invited to the Marian Shrine of Our Lady of Schoenstatt to pray the rosary by candlelight at 7:30 p.m. The rosary will include meditations and songs, and it will end with a short candlelight procession. Afterwards there will be refreshments and social time.


May 2: On the first Saturday of the month a Filipino Mass is celebrated at 4 p.m. at St. Peter the Apostle Parish in Austin. Fellowship follows right after the Mass at the Parish Activity Center. It’s a potluck dinner, so please bring a dish to share. Come and join us and meet your kababayan!


May 3: The Georgetown Life Chain event will be held on Williams Drive across from the Crestview Baptist Church. Registration begins at 3 p.m. and supporters will stand for one hour to support the life of the unborn. Everyone is welcome — families, parishes, youth groups and all community members. Water and pro-life signs will be provided.


May 4: St. Thomas Aquinas Parish in College Station hosts a Holy Hour for Vocations on the first Monday of each month at 7 p.m. in the main church. All are welcome!


May 16: Bishop Daniel Garcia will ordain W. Luke Parlow and Livinus Idag to the transitional diaconate at 10:30 a.m. at St. Vincent de Paul Parish in Austin. God willing, these men will be ordained to the priesthood in 2027.


May 9: A day of reflection entitled Navigating Grief will be offered at Cedarbrake Catholic Retreat Center in Temple. Retreatants will identify and reflect on their personal grief symptoms followed by a ritual to help ease the pain of grief and increase positive emotions. Father Harry Dean, along with spiritual directors Clyde Gottschalk and Judy Hoelscher, will lead this retreat. The cost is $50, which includes lunch.

May 20-22: Men between the ages of 18 and 49 are invited to the Heart of Jesus Retreat at Cedarbrake Catholic Retreat Center in Temple. This retreat is designed to help young men discern their vocation. It is an opportunity to meet many priests, hear their discernment stories and learn about the priesthood. The cost of the retreat is $35.

May 25: Diocesan offices will be closed for Memorial Day.


May 29: El último viernes del mes comenzando a las 7 p.m. rosario y 8 p.m. Misa Inter-parroquial. Jóvenes adultos comparten el Pan de Vida con alegría en la parroquia de Santa Barbara en Austin.


May 30: Mercy of God Prayer Center in Austin will present a Men’s Day Retreat from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. in Holtman Hall on the campus of St. Thomas More Parish in Austin. The day includes light breakfast and lunch. Donation is $45. More information and registration are available at mogpc.org/programs (click on Retreats).

May 29 -June 3: Cedarbrake Catholic Retreat Center in Temple will offer a Summer Silent Retreat. Take a vacation with the Lord and enter into silence to hear his voice. This annual summer silent retreat offers the option of two to five nights with daily Mass, talks, adoration, confession, and communal prayer. Spiritual direction will be offered.

June 6: Join Father Greg Gerhart before and after the priestly ordination for The Call. Young men are invited to learn about the priesthood by reflecting on the promises that the priest makes. The day will include breakfast, lunch, a saved spot at the ordination Mass, and an opportunity to hear from diocesan seminarians. This event is open to single men, ages 14-49, and it is free.

June 6: Bishop Daniel Garcia will ordain Deacons Solomon Akpan, Chris Haberberger, Cameron Kologinczak, Brian McNaughton and Isaiah Minke to the priesthood at 10:30 a.m. at St. William Parish in Round Rock.

June 20: St. John Parish in Fayetteville hosts a Holy Hour for Vocations on the third Saturday of each month following the 7:30 a.m. Mass. All are welcome!


June 27: Cedarbrake Catholic Retreat Center in Temple will offer The Way of the Heart: Connecting with God Through Prayer, Wisdom, and Silence led by Deacon Dan Lupo from St. Thomas More Parish in Austin. Come retreat from the noise of the world and receive a day of quiet to learn from Father Henri Nouwen's book, The Way of the Heart. Deacon Lupo will share insights from Father Nouwen’s wisdom on how to abide in God via solitude, silence, and prayer. The cost is $50 and lunch is included.
