May 3: The Diocesan Catholic Committee on Scouting meets quarterly to assess the needs of the Catholic Scouting population and to plan age-appropriate events to foster a deeper appreciation of our faith.

May 3: Father Kevin Rai leads Marian Mornings on first Saturdays from 8 a.m. to noon at St. Elizabeth Parish in Pflugerville. The morning includes Mass, a teaching, prayer time, silence and time for the sacrament of reconciliation.


May 3: St. John Neumann Parish in Austin hosts a Mass for Vocations followed by a Holy Hour for Vocations at 8:45 a.m. on the first Saturday of each month.


May 3: St. Mary Church of the Assumption in Waco hosts a Mass and Holy Hour for Vocations on the first Saturday of each month at 9 a.m. All are welcome!


May 4: A Life Chain will be formed in the parking lot at 2400 Williams Drive in Georgetown from 1:15 to 3:45 p.m. This is a peaceful witness by pro-life participants, who sit or stand and pray for the gift of life to the unborn and for the United States.


May 10: A Diocesan Holy Hour for Vocations will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at St. Louis Parish in Austin. All are invited to this day of prayer and hope for more vocations to the priesthood and religious life.

May 10-11: A special collection for Seminarians and Priest Education and Formation will be taken up in parishes across the Diocese of Austin.


May 17: Five men will be ordained to as transitional deacons at 10:30 a.m. at St. Vincent de Paul Parish in Austin. God willing, these men will be ordained priests in 2026.


May 18: Holy Qurbono (Holy Mass) in the Syro-Malankara Catholic Rite is celebrated every third Sunday of the month at the chapel of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Parish in Pflugerville at 3:30 p.m. The celebrant of the Holy Mass is Father Saji Lukose, associate pastor of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Parish.


May 24-25: A special collection for the Archdiocese for the Military Services will be taken up in diocesan parishes.

May 26: Diocesan offices will be closed for Memorial Day.


May 31: The Inner Healing Retreat will be held at Cedarbrake Catholic Retreat Center in Temple. Deacons Dan Lupo and Rod Reyna will explain the scriptural roots of Jesus' healing mission, review current Catholic-based efforts to continue that mission and demonstrate the practice of healing prayer. The retreat is from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and the cost is $50, which includes lunch.

June 6-8: A Miles Christi Silent Ignatian Retreat for men will be offered at Cedarbrake Catholic Retreat Center in Temple. Men are invited to spend a peaceful weekend with the Lord in silence, contemplation and prayer.

June 6-11: The Summer Silent Retreat will be held at Cedarbrake Catholic Retreat Center in Temple. Begin your summer focusing on the beauty of the Son of God and allow his love to warm you.

June 7: The Gift of Peace Day Retreat will be held at Cedarbrake Catholic Retreat Center in Temple. This is an opportunity to journey with others toward greater peace in their lives.

June 14: Join Father Greg Gerhart for The Call, before and after the June ordination, to learn about the priesthood by reflecting on the promises that the priest makes. Participants will be offered breakfast, lunch, a saved spot at the ordination Mass, and they will hear from current seminarians. This event is open to single men, ages 14-49, and it is free.

June 14: Deacons Scott Fyall, Michael Noriega, Kingsley Ohaeri, Michael Rhodes and Ladd Spears will be ordained to the priesthood at 10:30 a.m. at St. Vincent de Paul Parish in Austin.
