OCT. 3: The annual Red Mass for those who study or are engaged in the administration of justice will be celebrated at 6 p.m. at St. Mary Cathedral in Austin. A ticketed reception will follow the Mass.

OCT. 5: Project Andrew, an event for young men ages 14 to 49 interested in the priesthood, will begin at 9 a.m. at St. Louis Parish in Austin. This is an opportunity to meet priests from the diocese, hear their discernment stories and learn about the priesthood.

OCT. 5: Father Kevin Rai leads Marian Mornings on first Saturdays from 8 a.m. to noon at St. Elizabeth Parish in Pflugerville. The morning includes Mass, a teaching, prayer time, silence and time for the sacrament of reconciliation.


OCT. 5: St. John Neumann Parish in Austin hosts a Mass for Vocations followed by a Holy Hour for Vocations at 8:45 a.m. on the first Saturday of each month.


OCT. 5: St. Mary Church of the Assumption in Waco hosts a Mass and Holy Hour for Vocations on the first Saturday of each month at 9 a.m.


OCT. 5: A Filipino Mass is celebrated on the first Saturday of the month at 4 p.m. at St. Peter the Apostle Parish in Austin. Fellowship follows right after the Mass at the Parish Activity Center with potluck dinner, so bring a dish to share.


OCT. 6: St. Mary Parish in Hearne will host its Homecoming and Fall Festival on the parish grounds. The day begins with a bilingual Mass at 10 a.m. A spaghetti dinner will be served beginning at 11 a.m. Activities include live and silent auctions, a variety of foods, games for all ages and fun.


OCT. 6: The Dominican Sisters of Mary, Mother of the Eucharist will host a Rosary Crusade from noon to 5 p.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Priory in Georgetown. The crusade will begin with a perpetual rosary from noon to 4 p.m., then there will be adoration and solemn vespers, and benediction and light refreshments will conclude the day.

OCT. 6: Good Shepherd Parish in Johnson City will host its annual Mexican Dinner from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Plates will include homemade cheese enchiladas, taco, tamale, rice, beans, salsa, dessert and drink.


OCT. 12: Project Andrew, an event for young men ages 14 to 49 interested in the priesthood, will begin at 9 a.m. at St. Anthony Parish in Bryan. This is an opportunity to meet many priests from the diocese, hear their discernment stories and learn about the priesthood.

OCT. 12: The diocesan Scout Recognition Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Parish in Pflugerville. Father James Misko, vicar general of the Diocese of Austin, will celebrate and recognize scouts from Scouts BSA, Girl Scouts and American Heritage Girls who have earned a religious emblem or award in the previous year.

OCT. 13: Church of the Visitation in Westphalia will host its 117th Picnic on the parish grounds. There will be a meal, live auction, music, baked goods, crafts and games.

OCT. 13: Bishop Joe Vásquez and the Schoenstatt Fathers will offer Mass in celebration of the 10th anniversary of the Marian Shrine of Our Lady of Schoenstatt in Austin at 10:30 a.m. at the shrine in Austin.

OCT. 15: The annual Healthcare Mass will be celebrated at 6 p.m. at St. Mary Cathedral in Austin. Bishop Joe Vásquez will honor all those who work in healthcare.


OCT. 17: The University Catholic Center in Austin will display a beautiful exhibition of 64 Eucharistic miracles from 20 countries around the world.

OCT. 20: A special collection for World Mission Sunday — Propagation of Faith will be taken up in parishes in the Diocese of Austin. This collection supports the proclamation of the Gospel, the building of churches, together with the work and witness of mission priests, sisters and brothers, and lay pastoral leaders.


OCT. 20: St. Paul Parish in Smithville will host the annual Fall Festival on the parish grounds. A lunch of barbecue chicken and sausage with all the trimmings and dessert will be served for $14 per plate. Plates-to-go begin at 11 a.m. There will be a live auction, a market of homemade items, games for all ages, a silent auction and live music.


OCT. 20: Holy Qurbono (Holy Mass) in the Syro Malankara Catholic Rite is celebrated every third Sunday of the month at the chapel of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Parish in Pflugerville at 3:30 p.m. The celebrant of the Holy Mass is Father Saji Lukose, Parochial Vicar of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Parish.


OCT. 24: The Central Texas Fellowship of Catholic Men will host a Benefit Dinner at the Sheraton Austin Georgetown Hotel. The 2024 Catholic Man of the Year Award will be presented.

OCT. 26: All scouts are invited to join Father Will Rooney and the Diocesan Catholic Committee on Scouting for a Walking in Faith Hike, five-mile hike around Lake Georgetown. The day will begin at 10 a.m. Bring a lunch and a water bottle.

NOV. 1: Diocesan offices will be closed for All Saints Day, a holy day of obligation.


NOV. 2: Our Lady of the Rosary Cemetery and Prayer Gardens in Georgetown will host an All Souls' Day Celebration.

NOV. 9: The third annual Vocation Promoter Workshop will begin at 9 a.m. at St. William Parish in Round Rock.

NOV. 9: The Dominican Sisters of Mary, Mother of the Eucharist will host a women's Vocation Discernment Retreat from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the Our Lady of Guadalupe Priory in Georgetown. Women ages 16 to 32 are invited to attend. The cost is $20; lunch and dinner will be provided.
