SEPT. 2: Diocesan offices will be closed for Labor Day.


SEPT. 7: Father Kevin Rai will lead Marian Mornings from 8 a.m. to noon at St. Elizabeth Parish in Pflugerville. The morning includes Mass, a teaching, prayer time, silence and the sacrament of reconciliation.


SEPT. 7: St. John Neumann Parish in Austin will host a First Saturday Mass for Vocations followed by a Holy Hour for Vocations at 8:45 a.m.


SEPT. 7: The Knights of Peter Claver Ladies Auxiliary (KPCLA) Court #284 at Holy Cross Parish in Austin will host A Mother-Daughter Tea from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Holy Cross Family Life Center. This year's theme is “God's Faithfulness from Generation to Generation.”

SEPT. 7: A Filipino Mass is celebrated on the first Saturday of the month at 4 p.m. at St. Peter the Apostle Parish in Austin. Fellowship and a potluck dinner will follow the Mass.


SEPT. 10-13: Alan Ames, a Catholic evangelist and mystic, will be in the diocese at the following locations: St. Paul Parish in Austin on Sept. 10 at 6:30 p.m., St. John Neumann Parish in Austin on Sept. 11 at 6:30 p.m., St. Helen Parish in Georgetown on Sept. 12 at 6:30 p.m., and St. John the Evangelist Parish in Marble Falls on Sept. 13 at 6:30 p.m.

SEPT. 12: The Gift of Aging, a day of reflection, will be offered from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Cedarbrake Catholic Retreat Center in Temple. This retreat will explore the soul’s journey as we age. The cost is $45, including lunch.

SEPT. 15: Holy Trinity Parish in Corn Hill will host its annual Bazaar on the parish grounds. Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 and 11:30 a.m. Barbecue and fried chicken will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

SEPT. 21: September is Suicide Prevention Month. A Mass and remembrance ritual will be celebrated at 9 a.m. at St. Albert the Great Parish in Austin. Father Charlie Garza will celebrate the Mass.


SEPT. 22: St. Martin of Tours Parish in Tours will host its annual Picnic on the parish grounds. A fried chicken and sausage dinner will be served from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. for $14 per plate. A live auction will begin at 1 p.m.


SEPT. 27-29: Living a Trinitarian Spirituality, a weekend retreat, will be offered at Cedarbrake Catholic Retreat Center in Temple. This retreat explores the Trinity as a dynamic and relational mystery inviting human transformation.

SEPT. 28: Triumph of the Cross, a Discalced Carmelite Secular community, will host coffee and breakfast from 8:30 a.m. to noon at Carr Hall at Santa Rosa de Lima Parish in Andice. Holy Cross Brother Joel Giallanza will speak on St. Therese and the Eucharist.

SEPT. 28: Finding the Gift, a workshop for educators (teachers, catechists and parents), will be held from 8:30 a.m. to noon at the parish hall at St. John Neumann Parish in Austin. This workshop will equip educators with a toolbox to build the body of Christ and better serve children with learning differences.

SEPT. 28: Chosen and Beloved, an event for women ages 14 to 35 interested in religious life, will be offered from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at St. Mary Cathedral in Austin. This is an opportunity to encounter sisters from various religious communities, hear their discernment stories and learn about their communities.

SEPT. 30: The annual Blue Mass to honor public safety personnel will be celebrated at 10 a.m. at St. Louis King of France Parish in Austin. All active and retired Central Texas first responders are invited to attend.

OCT. 3: The annual Red Mass for those who study or are engaged in the administration of justice will be celebrated at 6 p.m. at St. Mary Cathedral in Austin. A ticketed reception will follow the Mass.

OCT. 5: Project Andrew, an event for young men ages 14 to 49 interested in the priesthood, will begin at 9 a.m. at St. Louis Parish in Austin. This is an opportunity to meet priests from the diocese, hear their discernment stories and learn about the priesthood.

OCT. 6: St. Mary Parish in Hearne will host its Homecoming and Fall Festival on the parish grounds. The day begins with a bilingual Mass at 10 a.m. A spaghetti dinner will be served beginning at 11 a.m. Activities include live and silent auctions, a variety of foods, games for all ages and fun.


OCT. 6: The Dominican Sisters of Mary, Mother of the Eucharist will host a Rosary Crusade from noon to 5 p.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Priory in Georgetown. The crusade will begin with a perpetual rosary from noon to 4 p.m., then there will be adoration and solemn vespers, and benediction and light refreshments will conclude the day.

OCT. 12: Project Andrew, an event for young men ages 14 to 49 interested in the priesthood, will begin at 9 a.m. at St. Anthony Parish in Bryan. This is an opportunity to meet many priests from the diocese, hear their discernment stories and learn about the priesthood.

OCT. 13: Church of the Visitation in Westphalia will host its 117th Picnic on the parish grounds. There will be a meal, live auction, music, baked goods, crafts and games. All are welcome!


OCT. 13: Bishop Joe Vásquez and the Schoenstatt Fathers will offer Mass in celebration of the 10th anniversary of the Marian Shrine of Our Lady of Schoenstatt in Austin at 10:30 a.m. at the shrine in Austin.
